Send your Girl Guides The Girl Guides held their second meeting in the new. Scout Hall, on y Mon, Jan. 14th, The meeting wa opened with a very snappy patrol drill in which the new guides did very well. _ Captain Godley then asked us to go to our corner while she read all the announcenients. She told us that Pat- rol Leader Joan Cook, leader of the Canary Patrol, who has done good work for quite a long time is to be moved up to the rank of Junior Lieut- enant.- Congratulations, Joan. Several contests were conducted The first about trees; each patrol was given a story in which the names of trees figured quite largely. The girls were to figure out the names of the trees mentioned. The Canary and Bluebird Patrols were tied in this. An obstacle race was conducted by Mrs. Goode which was really enjoyed by all the girls. The company has now two more Norma Levin- son and Elinor Hutchinson who reach- ed this stage of Guiding by passing their Semaphore. The rest of the evening was spent over a campfire at which many an old song was sung. The evening closed with Taps.
