Junior Farmers ONTARIO COUNTY JUNIOR "FARMERS HOLD FIELD DAY AT UXBRIDGE Some 300 to 400 Junior Farmers from Ontario County attended a Field Day at Uxbridge under the Ontario County Junior Farmers Association, on Saturday, June bth, "The day started at 10.30 in the mor- ning with the -goftball tournament and two elimination games were played, Port Perry Junior Farmers eliminat- ing Brogklin Junior Farmers by a score of 20-1 and Uxbridge Junior 'Farmers eliminating Beaverton Sub' 'jor Farmers 19-1. * | Following lunch the girls elimina- tion game was played, Port Perry Junior Institute eliminating Uxbridge girls 19-17. The track events were then held the events. The highlights of he track events were: High girl--Betty - Stanley, Beaver- ton, 20 points. High boy--Don 18 points. Winner of mile Trophy--Hugh Baird, Uxbridge. | Shier, Uxbridge, _ -Junior Farmers. "High Club in Athletic Events-- Uxbridge, 76 points. - Second--Beaverton, 61 points. Third--Port Perry, 16 points. Fourth--Brooklin, 2 points. --- 'played. the final softball game and 'the Port Pérry girls won the trophy by defeating Beaverton 31-16. The Juniors then adjourned for a -- picnic supper, following which: the boys final softball -game was "played: The Port Ferry Junior Farmers de- feated the Uxbridge Club by a score of 9-7 to win the County trophy. | The Field Day closed with a dance in the Music Hall. At the dance, the President of the Ontario County Junior Farmers, Ted Croxall, gave the results of the Field Day and presented the trophies.
