Williams, The 'tea was held to introduce Mrs. Fallis to her new neighbors. : t On Tuesday evening. of this week a surprise party was held at the liome of Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Turner in honor of Mr. and Mrs. Murray Williams and children, Neighbors and friends 'had .gathiered for. a préséntation, was played until the guests of honor Brrived, then Frank- Godley gave a presentation speech. He said how sorry their neighbors were to see Mur. and Mrs. Williams go; that they had always been good neighbors and that they would be sadly missed. Seeing|} they were not going very far, they . would still be able to keep in contact with them. A -presentation of an electric tea kettle, and a, beautiful blue pottery centrepiece was given to Mr. and. Mrs. Williams, to Jeanie and "Johnnie two lamps were presented-- one being suitable for a girl and the other. for a boy. A stuffed toy was given to the baby. To Yvonne Sum- merhill, who lives with the family and who will be going with them, a set of lovely glass plates were presented. After the presentation a social hour was énjoyed and then a very tasty lunch was served. It is a little late in the season to be welcoming the new school teachers to town, but seeing that it had been over- looked; we 'bid them _welcome to Port Perry, and hope that they will enjoy their stay with us." We also welcome Mr. and Mrs. Foster and Mrs. Foster's sister and brother, Miss Porter and Mr. Mr. Foster- is teaching at the High School. . Mrs. J. District Holds Senior Wardens . 5 go Night Tuesday evening was Senior "War- dens' Night at Cedar Lodge, A.F. A.M. Oshawa, and Wor. Bro. Roy Cornish, with a number of brethren from Fidelity Lodge here attended. There was a very large turnout from all over the. district and from many other points, over two hundred, as well as one could count. The Senior Wardens of Ontario, Dis-. trict filled the chairs vacated by the appointed officers and conferred the Entered Apprentice Degree on a _can- didate for initiation. Although the attendance was not very large a splen- did meeting was held. It was with ve- gret that the president, Barbara Hunter, the secretary, Kent Gerrow, and the Slide Convener, Barbara Love, felt it unnecessary to fulfill their ob- ligations by completing their term of office. Owing to these circumstances it will be necessary to have an election of officers at the first meeting in November. The treasurer, Isabel Gibson took charge of the meeting and very cap- "ably 'carried out .the duties of the other officers... : Several. hymns were sung and the prayer was given by Karel Espie and . the Scripture reading by Kaye Hast- ings followed by a story given by Mrs. R.
