Smallman and daughter, (Mrs, VanNest) are on a trip to Win- nipég, to visit Dr. and Mrs. B, Small- man and family. Messrs. Gordon and Edward Cran- dell and their wives, of Scobey, Mon- tana, were in town this week renewing old acquaintances. They are sons. of the late M. L. Crandell, and this is their first visit to Port Ferry in many years. Miss Cecile Rainville, of Ottawa, is visiting with her grandparents, Mr, and Mrs. Ernie Hayes, for the next two weeks. Mrs. Geo. Palmer, Worthy Matron of Blue Ray Chapter, Mrs. Charles Reesor and son Danny attended the afternoon tea of Durham Chapter, Bowmanville, on Thursday afternoon last, which was held on the spacious lawns of the home of Mrs. J. AEE ENENNNENENNNENNEED SHORT RE-UNION, 1949 The 22nd annual Short Re-union was held on June 11th at Lakeview Park, Oshawa, Eighty-six descen- ants of Richard Short and Ann Hey- wood gathered to spend a pleasant day renewing old acquaintances and par- ticipating in the program of sports and entertainment. After enjoying a hearty dinner, a good ball game was enjoyed, and next came the races for both young and older folk, for which prizes were given, At six o'clock a fine supper was served after which the business part of 'the re-union was conducted. The Presidient, Milton Stone, called on the Secretary, Heywood Short, to read the minutes of the previous year, and it was unanimously voted to hold the re-union at the same place and time next year. - Officers elected -- President, Wm.
