This seems a wise move on part of the Board. We hopa cigarette smokers refrain from laying their lighted cigarettes on it and leaving them to burn a grove on its polished surface as we have seen done on many pianos in public places. (Continued from page 1) ---- //SANITONE DRY CLEANING FORME... CLOTHES. ~_COME BACK \ 8Por- Afternoon session The afternoon session started off quietly with the passing of a motion that the Province be asked to accept part of the county road passing thrqugh Cannington as an Improve- ment Road, but warmed up while the | Committee of Assessment and Equal- ization presented' their report. Reeve T. H. Harding, of Reach, was extremely critical of the report of the special committee and of County Assessor Ralph Wilson. He received little support from other members of the council and his motion to reduce the amount of the qualified tax for Reach was defeated. The only other member to support his motion was his deputy, H. O. Dobson, The report adopted by the Council revealed considerable growth in the county since last year, with an in- crease of $729,310 in the equalized :| assessment. This was obtained in increased valuation-of land through sub-dividing, but the greater part came from new and improved build- ings. | The new schedule of equalization also teveals that the county and some townships have elastic boundaries, The county acreage showed an in- crease of nearly 10,000 acres over 1948 figures, and half of the munici- palities had more or less acreage than they had in 1948, s Thermo sliaiyd EVCTC Whos Tosnpporali ze/ ANNIVERSARY AT MANCHESTER .
