Hall for a couple of weeks after her return to Port Perry, then will return to Labrador, where her husband is stationed, Mr. and Mrs. Grant Robertson, of Brantford, was in town on Monday with the former's parents, Mrs. N. Wilkinson attended the funeral of her niece (nee Gola Wilkin- son) Mrs, George McCaughy, at Osha- wa, on Monday, October 12th. She had been ill a long time and in hospital. ANNIVERSARY SERVICES The 91st Anniversary Services will he held in St. John's Presbyterian } Church, on Sunday, October 19th, at II am. and 7 p.m. Rev. Wm. Mec- Roberts, M.Th., of Cooke's Church, in Toronto, will be guest speaker at both services, The Choir will provide special music assisted by Mr. and Mrs. Harry Shan- non of West Hill, as soloists, Many Port.Perry people will remember, with pleasure, the beautiful voice of Mrs. Shannon, formerly Kate Ross. aS: ,zgir ~~ . The Woman's Association held its first meeting of the autumn season on Tuesday, Oct. 7 at 3 o'clock in the school room of the church, = The president, Mrs, Z, M, Jackson, presided over the well attended meet- ing. I'he devotional period was con- ducted by Mrs. Joblin, with prayer by Mrs. Farmer. . The theme being "Thanksgiving", Mrs. M., Hooey rendered a solo, Mrs, Coulter gave an account of the book, "Wind Without Rain", in a very capable manner, It is in the Public Library and is well recommended. Mrs, Nasmith, Mrs. Joblin and Mrs, Davey, in a very interesting man- ner, told of 'the translating of the Bible into the Indian lialect by John Elliott and Stephen Riggs.
