The place is Uxbridge Music Hall, on Monday, Nov. 256th at 8 p.m. The en- tire program will be taken by the staff from Toronto Youth for Christ. Master of Ceremonies will be Rev. Charles B. Templeton who is excep- tionally popular among Toronto youth. Well known as "Chuck" Templeton, he was former sports cartoonist for the Globe and Mail. He is an athlete. Mrs. Templeton, raised at Pasodena, California, is an outstanding soprano. The singing will be directed by Gus Ambrose. PURPLE HILL COUPLE CELEBRATE SILVER WEDDING ANNIVERSARY On Saturday evening, November 9, over ninety relatives, friends and neighbours gathered at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Toms, Purrple Hill, to celebate with them their 26th wed- ding anniversary. A beautiful three-tier wedding cake centered the lace covered dining table with silver candles at each end, and silver streamers. Rev. Bruce Harrison called the gathering to order and was chairman for the following program: song by Eileen, Helen and Wilma Toms, read- ing by Shirley Vance, piano number by Mrs. Anson Taylor, Sr., mouth or- gan seeletions by Garnet Murray, sax and piano music by Laurence and Jean Malcolm. Miss Pearl Taylor, niece of the couple read an address and Mr, Wilfred Williams and Wilbur Vance, on behalf of the gathering presented Mr, and Mrs. Toms with two occasional chairs, also a silver cake plate from their daughters Jean, Ruby and son-in-law Earl. The bride and groom thanked their friends for the lovely gifts and the thoughtfulness of remembering them on the occasion. The rest of the evening was spent in a social get-together and the serv- ing of lunch brought the evening to a close. Mrs. Love, the presi- dent, conducted the business meeting and the minutes were read by Mrs. Cornish in the absence of the secretary Mys. Ted Jackson. Mrs, Michell took charge of the Devotional period and was assisted by her group--Mrs, Hil- lier, Mrs. Griffen, Mrs. Crane, Mrs. Chapman. In the study hook, another chapter, "India at the Threshold" was studied. Mrs. Crane gave a lovely re- membrance day thought and two short poems by John MeCrea. The meeting closed with prayer, after which lunch was served and a social time spent.
