Mr. ad Mrs. Gerrow also received several lovely silver gifts from friends and neighbours. Mrs. Wesley Elliott has returned from a three months' visit with rela- tives in Parry Sound and Bracebridge. Stouffer, on Tuesday, October 22nd at the usual hour. EVENING AUXILIARY The October meeting of the Evening Auxiliary was held at the home of Mrs. Roy O'Neill. The Vice-President, Mrs. Colbear, opened the meeting and took charge of the business session in the absence of the president, Mrs. C. Love. A short reading on Christian Stewardship was given by Mrs. LK, G. Michell and Miss Webster read a very appropriate number on Temperance. Miss McDermott assisted by Miss A. Webster, Mrs. Lyle and Mrs. Mark, gave a very interesting account of the study book "India on the Threshold" by Mrs. Bryce. Mrs. Gibson, one of our new members, read a lovely story about "Rama" a small boy in India. Prayer closed the meeting, Lunch was served by the hostess and mem- bers of the group. GREENBANK The W.M.S. held its monthly meet- ing at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Phoenix, Tuesday afternoon, October 8th, when they entertained the Pine- dale W.M.S. Mrs. Bowles, of Sunder- land, was the guest speaker, giving a very interesting talk on conditions as they existed and their work in China, when she and Mr. Bowles were there as Missionaries, and of present con- ditions, She also showed articles of clothing and needlework done by the Chinese women which was very inter- esting and enjoyed by all. There was a nice program given by members of the society. Lunch was served ending a very enjoyable and profitable after- Rev, Mr, Wallace and Mr. T. Sharp atended the Presbytery at Bobcaygeon last Thursday. Miss Perkin of Midland, formerly of Brandon, Man., the guest of Mr, and Mrs. C. Phoenix for the week-end.
