Beacock, Toronto, won the prize for being the oldest lady present. Mr. W. C. Ferguson, the oldest man present, both being 85 years young. The Werry picnic, instituted some 73 years ago, was held in Hampton Park, July 20th, with 120 present, Carol Wilson, Port Perry, was winner of one of the special prizes, being the youngest baby present. Philp attended the graduation exer- cises. Mr. Newton Taylor recently sold four registered cattle for export to go to Connecticutt, U.S.A. The Nestleton W. I. sponsored a get- to-gether for Mrs. K. Burton (Jennie Gordon) on the lawn of Mrs. Joseph Forder, Mrs, Burton has been con- fined to a wheel chair for years and 40 of her friends and neighbors were invited to do her honour. Among the gifts were a lovely cake made by Mrs. Geo. Forder, also several beautiful bouquets. Speeches were made and ice cream, cake, cookies and tea were served. Miss Oliver, coach for Girls' Clubs Northumberland, viisted the gardens of the: Girls' Garden Brigade--"The Fat for Health Club"--last week. On July 19th annual achievement day was held at Millbrook for those who have completed the unit, "cottons may be smart". There were forty members and ten received certificates of achievement, having successfully completed two Home-making Club | units. Mildred Snowden received | jConnty Honours which is the comple- ition of six units. Mrs. Sandy Moore is leader of Blackstock group, the name] of which is Sewing Pals. The girls chose sleeping garments for their next {year's club work in this district. This work is under the direction of the Women's Institute Branch of the De- partmtnt of Agriculture. PPP -- GREENBANK WOMEN'S ASSOCIATION On Tuesday afternoon, July 23rd, at the home of Mrs. Harvey Real, the ladies of Bethesda W. A. were enter- tained by Greenbank W. A, With Mrs. Harvey Real presiding the meeting opened with singing and prayer. The Topic "Let us confess our sins to God" was taken by Mrs, J. MecKitrick. At the close of the Devotional Period the busindss part of the meet- mg was dispensed with until August. The programme consisted of--Solo by Mrs. C.
