A LETTER OF APPRECIATION After many yedrs of service as care- taker of the Public Library, Mr. Jas. 'Read has been compelled through ill health to give up the work. The members of the Library Board regret that Mr. Read had to take this step, and sent to him the following service. Dear Mr. Read: that ill-health necessitates your giving up the care of the Library. 'You have always had a keen inter- est in the Library and it seemed right and fitting that you, a Veteran in whose honour it was erected, should be its. first caretaker. The Board feel that you regarded the Library as a sacred trust and had great pride in keeping building and grounds looking their best. Many times it has been difficult for you to carry on but your loyalty in fair weather and foul to perform dull duties and small in the same old way took true courage. We want to say "Thank you" and to wish you a well earned rest and im- proved health. You will always be a part of The War Memorial Library to those wie} have worked with you-and-know-you- best. Sincerely yours, Clara E. Harris, Chairman. Eunice W. Harris, Secretary.
