Emerson, of Nestleton, have received word that their son Flying Officer Ralph Emer- son, R.C.A.F., was reported missing over enemy territory on December Z6, 1944, Ralph is 29 years old. He graduated from Port Perry High School in 1935. In the fall of that year he attended the Normal School at Peterboro and later studied as a chartered accountant with the firm of Mulholland, Mac- Pherson, Thorne and Howson. He enlisted in the R.C.A.F. in 1942, receiving his training at Lachine, Hagersville, Toronto and Portage La Prairie, from which place he gradua- ted in 1943. In November of the same year he married Eleanor Rainey, of Markham, He proceeded overseas in July, 1944 and had almost completed an opera- tional tour. He was Navigator on the plane and the entire crew of seven are listed missing, Ralph has one brother Flying Officer Edgar 'Emerson, with the R.C.A.F., who completed his tour of operations and is now posted in Canada. A} \ Mr. E, W. Tapp, of Simcoe, is suc- OBITUARY MRS. W, W. CROSIER Another of our highly esteemed citi- zens passed away on Wednesday, Jan- uary 10th, 1945, in the person of Mrs. -W. W. Crosier, . Mrs. Crosier's maiden name was Frances Ann Dalton, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Francis Dalton, of Victoria Corners. She was born in 1862, In 1880 she married Wright W. Crosier and the young couple moved to the Crosier homestead West of Utica. Your sons were born of this marriage, one of whom died in infancy, In 1916 Mr. and Mrs, Crosier moved to Port Perry, and in 1930 they cele- brated their golden wedding Crosier died in' 1934, - Surviving their mother are three sons--W, Frank, of Ajax; David, of Stouffville; and Wesley, of Seagrave, There are also six grandchildren, and eight great grandchildren. _ The funeral services were conducted by Rev. W. C. Smith, and interment was made at the family plot in the Cemetery by the United Church at Utica, Mrs. Crosier was a woman of sterl- ing character, industrious and kindly.
