We have 20 ratepayers, including Mr.-P. Osler, of R.A.F., who owns upwards of 1000 acres in the section, Thirty-six blocks were turned in and the making is in progress. On Thursday night, May 23, they put on an Empire Day program in the school, inviting the ratepayers and others. A collection brought in $5.79 to be used in buying linings, etc. Thelma Ferguson, Grade 8, president, welcomed the guests, and explained their plans and need for the work. Sceretary John Green called the roll, each pupil responding with a suitable patriotic poem or thought of his or her own choosing. Mrs, Venning, the teacher is to bé congratulated on the performance and their enthusiasm. Mrs. Hooecy, convener of the work committee will have the quilting in her home on Tuesday next.
