WOLVES ARE INCREASING IN NUMBERS Up in the Yukon, where the natives depent upon wild game and fish for their food, the wolves are a horrible | menace to larger game, and are kill-|§ ing hundred of caribou. For a num-|§ ber of years past there has been nog bounty on wolves up there. It is al- together likely that the government |§ may see fit to devise ways and means to conserve the game, by destroying | the wolves. Algonquin -Park is a government sanctuary, for preservation of our game--especially deer, Since it is unlawful for any person to carry fire arms in this park, reports are current that large packs of wolves are slaughtering deer. Sportsmen are anxious to be allowed to enter the Park to shoot wolves for the-bounty. In the Peterboro district wolves are . frequently heard howling at night, and a number of farmers have lost sheep and young cattle. 20200000 S0S0SIS0SOEOSOR0SOSOPOSOROSORONO MYRTLE - Miss Elsie Smith spent the week end with her parents at Oakville.
