What a fine thing it is to see the young people tak- ing part in matters like this. Four young ladies, two being Miss Lillian Murphy and Miss Mary Vickery, told about the activities of the week spent as delegates at the Oak Lake Summer School. These young folk expressed themselves in a very able and pleasing manner, A fifth lady spoke in the interests of the Young People's Union and asked for the co-operation and prayers of all. The choir sang "All for Jesus" which blended in nicely. There was a fine attendance at the %Y. P. Union on Wednesday might, The weather was ideal and we were curious to hear the "mystery program" which had been announced previously. Rev. Mr. Smyth presided over the meeting the president Murray Luke, having re- signed owing to absence. The opening Hymn was "Art Thou Weary and Heavy Laden". The two first lines of each verse being a question, were sung by half of those present, while the last two lines, being the answer, were sung by the other half. This made a nice change in the singing. The XIX Psalm was read responsively, followed by the minutes' of the last meeting. Mr. C. Clark rendered a beautiful solo "What a Friend We Have in Jesus", Rev, Mr, Smyth gave an in- teresting talk about his trip to and from Ireland, promising to tell us more at the next meeting. He also told us that he kissed the "Blarney- Stone" while there. Mr. Will Lyle favored with a reading. Two contests ended the program, and the meeting was brought to a close with the bene- diction. Another writes: "Along the line of smoky hills The crimson forest stands, And all the day the bluejay calls Throughout the autumn lands."
