Men--1st John Murray 46, 2nd, H. Mulligan 88. 2nd, BN A... CAESAREA On Friday, a sail boat belonging to Petley Brothers, of Oshawa, was caught in a sudden squall on Lake Scugog. Bob and Ray Petley, Rae Grinnell and Douglas Brownridge, were in the boat at the time. They had sailed north to the mouth of the Scugog river and were nearly home when the wind caught the boat throw- ing one of the boys, who caught the mast, upset the boat. Mrs. Petley on the shore saw the trouble and asked Mr. McGill to come to their assistance. He picked three of the boys up in a skill and two girls soon rescued the fourth. A raincoat and a pair of shoes were lost, the sail ripped, but otherwise nothing resulted worse than a ducking for the four adventurers. B. Rahm, ------------ APS COATES REUNION PICNIC HELD AT PORT BOLSTER A Coates' Reunion was held at Port Bolster, August 22nd, when nearly Coates and Mary Waddell, of Shirley (near Port Perry) gathered to spend the day together. Members were present from Winni- peg, Toronto, Hamilton, New Ham- burg, Brighton, Brechin, Burketon, Columbus, Oshawa and Port Perry. The oldest person present was Mrs. John Coates of Winnipeg, aged 87, and the youngest was Ora Ann Chapman, aged four months, of Port Perry. The late John Coates was of English descent.
