"P-GP Editor of the Port Perry Star: Dear Sir,--I am very sorry our Assessor charges me with making a "very serious mis-statement" as pub- lished in his letter appearing in your | issue of last week. He does not state, however, what: this "very serious mis- statement" 1s. In answer to his remarks of the 16th ult.,, I plainly stated that he had not much grounds for complaint since he has placed the Swan Block in a posi- tion whereby the Corporation Account does not benefit to the extent of one | dollar--I might have added School Account as well--thus defeating the expressed will of our ratepayers. The Municipal Records, including his As. sessment Roll, certify to the accuracy of my comments. I am quite willing to submit to the decision of any unbiased citizen, and would suggest that the loser donate $100 to Port Perry Treasury. If this challenge is not accepted, as far as I am concerned the matter is closed. "JAMES LUCAS. CHURCH OF THE ASCENSION Service at 11 a.m, 8ST. JOHN'S PRESBYTERIAN ) CHURCH Rev.
