Musical selections were "given by Misses Mabel Niddery and Jean Mc- by Miss Jean Hosie of Goodwood, A demonstration of packing a suit case was then given by Sadie Evans, who showed that it was possible to pack quite a bunch of stuff in the limited space, Scugog Junior Girls Institute gave a skit, "Dinner is Served" and Miss Irene Dayidson of Sandford gave an excellent demonstration of cutting and fitting a garment using a house dress as a sample, The interest taken by the young people in this work has been of a steady growth, The work was orig- inated by the Ontario Department of Agriculture a few years ago un- der the direction of Institutes Branch and so favorably has it been re- ceived 'by the young ladies of the province it is now being recognized ag one of the outstanding lines in the junior work of the Department. As a result of this competition a team of three young ladies, Evelyn Gilroy, Myrtle Station; Helen Carter,|. Port Perry; Jean McClintock, Port Perry. Spare, Rowena Pickett, Ux- bridge were chosen to represent Ont- tario County in -similar competition at the Canadian National Exhibition this year. Mrs. John McKee is visiting with friends in Midland. The tenth annual Mountjoy Picnic was held at Morden's Tourist Camp Bowmanville on Saturday, July 29th, with the splendid attendance of 105. The weather was ideal and the after- noon was spent in sdeial conversations after which a well arranged program of sports under the leadership of Mrs. both young and old -were given an opportunity: of taking part and for which suitable prizes were given. At 6 o'clock all sat down to a delicious picnic supper to which all apparently did ample justice. The company was then called to order by Mr. J. E. The August meeting of the Victor- ian Women's Institute was held at the home of Mrs. Harry VanCamp, on Wednesday afternoon," the 2nd, and took the form of a picnic at which 90 membets and visitors were present.
