R. James of Lindsay. The officers, be- ing unable to remove the still from its location, because of the density of the bush, broke it up. - It had a capacity of 100 gallons and near by were mash, grain and bottles in plentiful supply. According to the police, the still has been in the bush for four years, and prior to that was on another farm farther north for five years. There is no farm. Local officers said today that the still was probably moved to its location on the McFadden farm during the winter, the only wide path through the bush being frome the river front, 400 yards away. A trapper walking through the bush discovered the still and com- municated with the authorities, Local police say the liquor made in the still has been sold at Orilia and at most of the summer resorts in this district. The officers say an excellent quality of liquor was manufactured and it found a ready sale. To the chiefs he said, "Your men would be proof against the panic and ex- citement which often occurs, if they knew all the conditions in- side a building. I think it would be a good idea to have fire drills in our downtown office buildings and factories, similar to those we have im our public schools. The results might surprise us, and give us very. valuable data."
