Our Daily Recipe DOUGHNUTS Beat 2 eggs thoroughly, add 1 cup of sugar and beat with egg beater, add butter "size of tablespoonful, lit- tle nutmeg and salt. To 1 quart of sifted flour add 3 teaspoons baking powder; use 1 cup of milk, adding the flour and milk alternately, as it makes a finer grain. CHERRY PIE 'Wash and sced a quart of cherries. Line a deep pie plate with rich pas- try, pour into the bottom of pie 1 well-beaten cgg. Over this sprinkle ¥% cup of granulated sugar and 2 tablespoons of flour which have been sliced together. Spread the cherries in evenly and pour over the top an- other % cup of sugar. Cover with top crust and bake in moderate oven.
