TITULESCU T0 QUIT RUMANIA'S CABINET Bucharest, Rumania, July 13.-- The resignation of Nicholas Titu- lescu, the foreign minister, is said to be imminent, and it is expected that his post will be filled by J. C. Duca, the minister of the interior, Dissensions hetween M. Tituleseu and Premier Bratiano are said to have hastened the foreign minis- ter's plan to leave the cabinet. M, Duca is reported tq have said that unless present negotiations for the stabilization of the leu are not brought to a speedy conclusion the entire government will resign, It is understood that Premier Bratiano rejected M, Titulescu's recommendation that the League of Nations be asked to appoint a financial committee to help in Ru- mania's economic and financial re- covery, Straw Hats Up to $3.50 Values, Special $1.49 1.Collis & Sons 50-54 King St, W, Phone 833W For Better Values DIAMONDS Burns' Jewelry Store 283% Simcoe B, Phone 880 Cash or Terms EYESIGHT SPECIALIST Author of The Byes in Modern Life Optometry Feature Bervice Your Eyes and Health Bye Care and Eye Btroin 1516 PHONE 1516 DISNEY BLOCK Opposite Post Office Save Your Eyesight You simply cannot do your best with defective sight Why not consult _ WNAC_(461)--Boston, Opry douse Te- Wi ers, : lon vital matters of policy are per- W.A. A strong Tory group composed of 210 members and headed by Sir Robert Horne, Sir Henry Page Croft and Commander Oliver Lock- er Lampson are demanding protec- tion for the iron and steel indus- try, and they threaten to oppose the Government on the address at Ee ---- MARCONI SHOP | The Best in Radios Kingston Rd. In Labor ranks Right Hon. J. H. Thomas is demanding explanations as to the reason for the attacks made on himself by Wheatley, while Maxton is also being called upon to explain to the executive of the party the reasons for his recent manifesto and attacks on Ramsay MacDonald, Thomas and other moderate leaders. In this connection there is a likelihood that Booth, Wheatley and Maxton will be expelled from the party, because, although Mae- Donald is reluctant to take any drastic action, Thomas is most an- xious to secure party discipline. Premier Baldwin is not in favor of bringing the protectionist issue up because he feels that, if he sub- mits to the demands of the protee- tionist members of his own party, it wil] imperil his chances in the next election and give the Liberals the opportunity to raise a ery against the Tories in the name of free trade. On the other hand, Labor wants to discourage the belief in the pub- lic mind that its policy is dictated by extremists because of the fear that such a helief would lose them thousands of votes if the elector- ate gets the idea that Labor is go- ing to embark on extremist schemes when next in power. The Liberals, strangely enough now constitute the only party with any real unity, thanks to Lloyd George's leadership and to the lat- est publicity methods of conduet- ing an active campaign throughout the country. ---------------- You will be able to readily trans- fer the vaseline without any waste from the original bottle to the fancy jar on the dressing table if you set the hottle of vaseline on back of range until vaseline is melted, the Govern FAMOUS RESIDENCE BOUGHT BY PARI Hotel de Lauzun Still Con. tains Pictures and Furniture Paris, July 13.--The Hotel de Lauzun, one of the most perfect specimens of the domestic archi- tecture of the seventeenth century, was purchased by the City of Paris at public auction for 4,000,050 francs. The city, the only bidder, raised the opening price 50 francs. The government paid 2,000,000 francs of the price and the build- ing will be a museum. Built in 1657, it was one of the most magnificent residences of the period. It takes its name from the adventurous Gascon Guardsmen Peguilin, who became the Duc de Lauzun, a favorite of many royal ladies. He bought it when he seec- retly married Louise D'Orleans, the Duchesse de Montpensier, "La Grande Madamoiselle." It still contains paintings and furniture of 250 years ago. PREFERS CHAIR TO MOSQUITOES Union City, Tenn., July 12.-- Johnny Vaughan, 21-year-old con- demned murderer who escaped from Obian county jail last Thurs- day, returned voluntarily to his cell Tuesday, because he "prefer- red death in the electric chair wu being bitten to death by mosqui- toes." Vaughan's face and arms were a mass of mosquito bites, suffered during his hiding at the home of an uncle, sleeping in the woods at night, This fine old Herb Medicine supplies the blood with ingredients which begin healing up sick or T m regularly st will you ag col eu- ia, hemorrages, etc. Keo Ye at once tissues. | ERS INDIAN LUNG REMEDY One of the famous Gal Herbal Household aallaginty i -------- For Your Drug Needs THOMPSON'S 10 Simcoe St. 8, We Deliver {WOMEN RAISE BiG SUM FOR CHARITY Daughters of Isabella Col. lect More Than $1,000, 000 in 10 Years The report on charitable and educational work showed more than $1,000,000 collected for char- ity in the last decade, at the meet- ing of the national board of the Daughters of Isabella.
