WHITBY Representative James Holden Phone House 15 Office 434 HEAVY WEEK-END Holiday Seekers Start Out Early--Stream of Cars Already Seen "(B y Staff Reporter) Whitby, ds 30--A large increase in motor traffic both on the Lindsay highway and the Kingston road was noticed here today, due no doubt to the week-end holiday and Dominion Day. Holiday seekers passed through the town in hundreds, conveyed in all manner of vehicles ranging from the dinky and antiquated 1915 model to the powerful and highly polished mogul of the road as produced today. The constant stream of traffic east and west and north and south made the "Four Corners" a most difficult crossing point for pedestrians who were called upon to exercise the ut most pedestrian alacrity and caution in order to tliread the maze of motors. A large number of the cars were seen to bear American licenses rep- resenting practically every state from Maine to California. The ma- jority of these tourists of course practically only achieve glimpse of the town as they speed through on the highway. But every day brings its néw quota of campers to' the town park on Brock street, GARDEN PARTY FINE SUCCESS Held Under the Auspices of Baptist Young People's Union (By Staff Reporter) Whitby, June 30.-- A very success ful garden party was held under the auspices of the. Baptist Young Peo- ple's Union on the spacious grounds of Rev, Best's residence, Euclid street, last night.
