It was in the form of a quilt- ing. As is usually the case on quilting day, the ladies gathered: be- fore noen and: enjoyed their dinner together * before beginning their work. The dinner, which consisted of all manners of good things brought from the various homes, .was thoroughly enjoyed by all. Fol- lowing difiner, each of the four groups of the class quilted a quilt which will be given to someone in need. During the afternoon a short meeting of the class was held, when the r.ecessary business was discussed and' a short program enjoyed. " COURTICE Courtice, Mar. 30.--Miss Aura Qs- horne is visiting in Selina, guest of Mr, and Mrs, Arthur Pascoe, On Monday evening it being the thirty-eighth wedding anniversary of Mr, 4 Mrs, 8, .S, Brooks, about thirty friends from Oshawa gave them a real surprise. They were members of the club to which Mrs, rooks belongs and their husbands and they presented Mr, and Mrs, Brooks with two lovely silver candle stieks, with candles in them. A pleas- ant evening was spent and Mr, and Mrs, Brooks were most genial as host and hostess.
