Their playful and mischievous frolics supplied just the touch of comedy which was needed to Yim some of the tragic elements the ot, and we were really sorry, when pat, in the picture, the bear grew up, and began to take a more seri- ous view of life. : The story itself is very like many another "Mountie" picture, but wit what might almost be called an "All- Star" caste, "Nomads of the North is in a class by itself, The scenery is magnificent, especially the forest fire, which is splendidly shown, There is no fake about this fire, as| any who have seen one will recog nize at once. It depicts, as mo amount of mere writing can do, the terrific speed with which fire can spread through timber and under brush, destroying everything that is unfortunate enough to be in the dis- astrous path, . There is a good comedy starrin Bert Williams, and also the tent chapter of "Blake of Scotland Yard" in which the scene returns once 'more to England, where, it appears, there is still another copy of the fmaous fo AT THE REGENT *THE REJUNVENATION OF AUNT MARY" The featwre picture which com- menced its three run at the Regent last night is beyond all doubt one of the funniest and most v comedire we have seen for some time, With May Rob. and Phyliss you might ore, but when you ord and Franklin there is a combination t is hard to beat, t is a pretty difficult matter to get a whole audience holding their sides with rriment, but when Aunt Mary invents a new method for amusing a lunatic by smearing his fi th molasses and then giv- ing him a feather to play with, there wasn't a solemn face in the whole crowd. And that is only one of the farcical situations that are occuring every moment, Phyllis Haver gives a fine exhi- bition of driving when she pilots an ambulance to second place in a cross country automobile race, in her en- deavour to keep up with Aunt Mary who suddenly decides to act as me- chanic for her beloved nephew Jack, played by Harrison Ford, he whole cast is well selected and combined 'with an exceptionally well-balanced story makes this one of the outstanding pictures of the season. A "Gang" comedy, "Harvard and Yale," which preceded the featurc is just a riot of fun and frolic and the Gang's terrific battle with the Gas House Garlics is one of the great cvents of their career. The Pathe News presents some very interesting flashes of world events and Jack Watson's orchestra furnished their usual tuneful back- ground to a very fine evening's en» tertainfent. Heretofore, it has been possible for an M.P, to load up the order paper in advance with resolutions, They could be sent in any time during the recess. Now, there can be only one at a time and some who have for- warded several have been asked to designate the particular one they want on the order paper. Till one is disposed of another cannot he put on, There have also been many in stances where these resolutions have been tabled and have received pub- lieity, but were never discussed, and perhaps never intended to be. Where there is any such suspicion, the House leader can force the members to go ahead with the resolution or else it must be dropped. Private mo- tions, called twice and not proceeded with, automatically disappear, but can be restored by special motion, If not gone ahead with when called again, they go off for good, Another change in the rules does away with a resolution preceding cer- tain bills. Last year, 50 divorce bills were held back because of the dis. cussion on the Georgian Bay Canal bill blocking their consideration in the allotted time. There will he no more of that, Any private bill not disposed of at any one sitting goes to the foot of the list, Tmportance attaches to the rule whereby in future there may be two amendments to the budget or to sup- ply. Herelofore, only one has been possible and, when the official opposi- tion did not avail itself of it, the other groups were out of luck. Pro- tects were frequent from the Pro- gressives when they were a larger factor than now. It is believed that the new rules will heve an abbreviating tendency, althou~h per =7 »~t an extensive one, There is to be a limit of 4 minutes on speezo:s, vith an exeep- tion in the case of the Premier and ic-| leader of the oficial Opposition, or » | ment measure, ilwiy pol \rhite Rive. ing from wounds 10 repozis opleau. A. Robson, K.C, leader of the Liberal group. Mr. Robson declared he was going to vote against the liquor bill, pri- marily on the grounds that the Gov- ernment had changed the original principles on which the system of selling liquor had been established, and that the proposed disposition of liquor profits represented an altera- t= MANITOBA LIOUOR | - Suffer No Longer Skin diseases yield to "Sootha-Salva™. 80¢c. package FREE. t | its wonderful influence. of any [les ieeres eru will heal and pear under e ies of Sootha Salva te five ree, while they last, toany 4 of a 60¢c. box of Fruit-a-tives.
