SPEAK! self as a writer and a cousin of i Lord Milner of England, was sen- tenced to not more than three years in the penitentiary when she pleaded guilty Monday in Special Sessions Court to giving worthless cheques. She bought two dresses at a Fifth Avenue store and gave a cheque on a bank at Ripon, Cal, in payment. The cheque was returned. Mrs. Stein told the police she mar- ried Major Roy Rockwood, who was an army officer at Forty Morgan, Ala., and in Manila, P. I. When he died in 1919 she married Lieutenant Carroll Stein. In 1922 she said her husband was in the secret service of General Chang in Shanghai.
