AUSTRIAN SOVIET ENVOY RETIRES Berlin and 'Moscow Puzzled Over Vienna's Acti % Vienna, Oct. 13.--While Berlin and Moscow were spectulating Mon- day upon the recall from Moscow of Otto Pohl, Austrian Minister ov Russia, it was authoritatively learned that Pohl himself had re- quested his Government to "relieve" him in view of his long service among the Soviets. It is understood his resignation as yet has not heen acjapied. Pohl after returning to Moscow from a short holiday is expected to returg-fo Vienna. The Austrian dele- gation will be entrusted the Charge d'Affaires io Karl Hudaschek, it is said. Diplomats in Berlin had attribut- ed the recall to Pohl's independent attitude which culminated in a conflict betweent he Minister and the Government over the July re- bellion in Vienna.
