ndrew's Have nd Andi This Week Fans will be out jn tan force for Saturday's senior tuasel between Max Swanston's, Peterbora Liftlock- ers and Billy Henson's Motor City crew. It is expected that the fur will fly from the first to the last frames and the Motors will attempt to pull the fat from the fire by cop- ping the second game of the series. The locals did not take kindly to the 6 to 0 beating they received in Josh Craig's city and Saturday's game here should see the Benson clan at their best, Al. Heckman was the big noise in the jnitial contest when he held the Oshawa sluggers to two hits. However, Mr. Heckman is not in- vincible at all times and should he be sent back against the locals Sat- into his offerings just the same as anyone else. St. Andrew's have 8 tough proposi- tion to handle this wepk, the occasion being on Thursday, when they visit the Queen City to play the second game of their series with Glad Cal-- houn's kids, "Al" Tyson's lads didn't take the least bit of relish put of their 19 to 8 handling on Saturday at Alexandra Park and de- clare hy all thats going that they'll take the Macs into camp and set them dowm properly in their next ocial gathering on Thursday at illowvale Park, Bloor street west. One thing, they also swear, will be missing from the game that was much in evidence here on Saturday, and that will be a certain gentleman on the undersized style vertically a and a trifle too great horizontally, ho answered to the name of Frost nd who is alleged to have umpired the game behind the protection of a chest protector, shin guards and a face mask. The only thing about him that is troubling the Saints is | why he wasn't given honourable mention in The Times Twin Dollar Day guessing contest for sending in the most illustrious guess. They gave him a vote of honour on Saturday for this in his umpiring although he wasn't anywhere near the correct answer in the most of his cases of intellegtual juggling. A goodly number of supporters should follow the Junior artists up to the big city while on Saturday for the Peterboro-Oshawa engage- ment, Alexandra Park should bulg to overflowing with cash customers out to see a real hot hattle of wits and all round baseball, SPORT CARD FOR TODAY Junior Industrial, Beavers vs. Phillips at Cowan Park, (Deciding game for third position), GAMES TOR TOMORROW Intermediate O,B.AA, Stouffville vs, Port Hope at Al- eanxdra Park, 4.30,p.m, (Third, de, ciding game, first Yound). AUGUST 30, 1927 Brief Cominents On Local Spat Rain last night again halted a Ladies' Softball League game to add to the troubles that ave beginning to pile up on the execu- tive committee. Although their original schedule was to finish on August 31 with two engagements a week, postponed and 'replayed games made them hustle into three a week some time ago and still they have four or five on the books After August 31, to be doing. The score was 10 to 7 for the Orono squad. The batteries for Orono were Oshorpe and Walton and Fair and Murchison for Sunderland. The return game will be played in Orono on September 14. Orme Gamsby's lads are a strong aggregation and would give many of the best teams in the district stiff op- position. There performance against Sunderland was gilt edged.
