LINDSAY, Phyllis Ruth (nee Owens) 1923 - 2022 ¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯ Passed away peacefully at the age of 99 from heart failure in Gravenhurst, Ontario on August 11, 2022. Phyllis was born on July 30, 1923 in Drumheller, Alberta, the daughter of Wilfred and Clara Owens and the third youngest of 12 brothers and sisters. In her late teenage years Phyllis moved to Toronto and met the love of her life Edward (Ted) Graham Lindsay. They married in 1947 in Montreal and Phyllis was a loving and devoted wife to Ted for almost 74 years. Ted and Phyll were longtime residents of Oakville Ontario and despite societal norms of the day had a successful career in banking. She was also a loving, fun and devoted mother to daughter Linda and son-in-law Eric Potts. Linda and Phyllis share a lifetime of cherished memories. She was especially proud of Linda and was grateful for Eric and Linda's love and support. Phyllis was a very special grandmother who loved her granddaughter Ashley, husband Joe and great-grandson Owen Edward (named after his great-grand- parents) immensely. Phyllis was an excellent athlete. She travelled the continent playing baseball and was a competi- tive speed skater. She was a fantastic cook and baker and her family and friends always reaped the rewards. Phyllis had a very wide and extended family; special mention has to be made of her nephew, Brian Owens, who always kept in touch. Phyllis was strong, resilient, smart, kind and loving. Her family grieves her loss but they take comfort knowing that Ted and Phyll are reunited. A special thank you to the staff at Muskoka Shores Care Community in Gravenhurst, Ontario who lovingly provided care and compassion over the last year. Phyllis has been cremated.
