The highlight of their trip was Mrs. Rouhiainen's father's 70th birthday and the occasion of her parent's 50th wedding anniversary, on July 18th. Their home town is Suononjoki and it was Strawberry Festival time in Finland. Mrs. Rouhiainen recounted how they picked strawberries by the light of the Midnight Sun, at twelve o'clock at night. Although the Midnight Sun had passed its height before they arriv- ed, she said George could read a book without the light on, at midnight. Mrs. Rouhiainen found Fin- land very modernized, where the people-seemed happy, comfortable and extremely welldressed. Horse drawn carriages took tourists on sight-seeing trips and all the motor cars she saw she described as mini-mini. Many older men drive motorcycles, her father at 70 among them.
