PAGE 10 RECREATION BRIEFS - By Jerry Dupas JUNIOR BADMINTON TOURNAMENT MAY 16TH All players who registered for the wind-up tourna- ment this Saturday, May 16th, are reminded that they are to be at the High School Auditorium on time as follows: - 10 to 12 years old = 9:00 a.m. and 13 to 15 years old - 10:30 a.m. Players will be competing in the mixed doubles tournament to decide winners in the championship and consolation events. The wind-up tournament gives the players an opportunity to test the knowledge and skills that they have been taught in the past five sessions. Parents - if you are interested in seeing how your son or daughter has progressed - plan to watch the fournament, MINOR FASTBALL '70 - REGISTER NOW a maa an dich ect aR deck cl Registration forms for Minor Fastball '70 have been circulated through all the schools. If you have not yet received a registration form and would be interested in playing ball, be sure to contact the Recreation Office as additional forms will be available. Leagues will be operated in the following categor- ies for roughly six weeks, beginning the last week in May: Boys - American League (7 - 9 years of age); National League (10 to 12 years of age); Pony League (13- 16 years of age) . Girls ~ Junior League (10 - 12 years of age) and Senior League (13 years and over). BE SURE TO RETURN YOUR REGISTRATION FORM AS SOON AS POSSIBLE TO THE RECREATION OFFICE, as registration deadline is 5:00 ri. Thursday, May 21st. TEENAGERS AND ADULTS - HELP! In order to successfully operate Minor Fastball '70 your assistance is urgently required in the capaci ty of coaches and umpires. Without your co-operation, the Recreation Office would have NO CHOICE but to cancel the program . Remember - the league will operate for only six weeks and at the most you will be called upon twice weekly. If you are willing to do your share and get Minor Fastball '70 off the ground , please call the Recreq- tion Office at 3542. This is due to the fact that the instruc- tor is unable to come because of health problems . The Recreation Office will retain all names of , people who have registered for the course and as soon as a date(s) is confirmed, these same people will be notified and asked if they are still interested in taking the course. We regret very much the difficulty we have en- countered, inasmuch as so many people are interest- ed in taking this course, but trust that we may finalize plans in the Fall. SILK SCREENING COURSE CANCELLED Steet ee ee eer Due to the lack of registrations for this course, we are forced to cancel the course at this time. An indication of interest for this course will be taken again in the Fall and Winter. LADIES' KEEP-FIT CLASSES A reminder to all ladies who registered for the classes that sessions are held once weekly on Wednesdays from 8:00 to 9:30 p.m. at the High School Auditorium. In addition to the weekly training session, several jogging sessions are arrang= ed on a weekly basis.
