In reply to tenders called for the maintenance of Centennial Park, E. O'Javee was awarded the con- tract. For boulevards on Simcoe Plaza, Ben Comeau was accepted, and Trent Desaulniers was appointed as dog catcher, as of May Ist. As recommended by the Recreation Committee, the old ball hut located on the previous ball field was i turned over to the local high school, to be used to - store shop equipment. The building Inspector reported one bathslieg permit had been issued, in the amount of $5,000. Minutes were read from the Pinewood Court, for the Aged Board of Management. A letter addressed to Reeve Cavanaugh, invited him and Mrs. Cavanaugh to attend the annual Curling Club Banquet. Since the Reeve was unable to attend, Councillor Desrosiers agreed to go. Councillor Desrosiers stated he is awaiting building proposals and costs pertaining to the proposed new fire hall. Jack Chapman reported a new Bush Fire Manual was presently being revised and updated. continued page 2 Home BUSINESS CLUB MEMBERS VISIT KIMBERLY-CLARK Ten business club members of Confederation College were guests of the Kimberly-Clark Pulp and - - Paper Company Ltd., on April 15th. They toured the Kimberly-Clark mill and were guests of the Company at a luncheon. After the Luncheon the Effluent Program at the Terrace Bay mill was presented. This presentation covered steps that were taken to control mill effluent when the mill was constructed and the various improvements that were made in the efflu- ent control system since that time. A.N. Chisholm, Industrial Relations Superintendent, and Jim Rogers, Process and Quality Control Supervisor, made the presentation. Those who had the pleasure of meeting with these students were impressed with them. If they are the type of young men and women who will graduate from Confederation College, the College is indeed doing a fine job.
