PAGE 10 en ng RECREATION BRIEFS - By Jerry Dupas LADIES' KEEP--FIT CLASSES START TONIGHT All ladies who registered for the Keep Fit Classes are reminded to be at the High School Auditorium by 8 o'clock this evening, Wednesday, May 6th for their first Keep Fit Class. A fee of $1.50 per registrant will be charged for the six training sessions, take-home material, as well as a number of JOGGING SESSIONS per week throughout the six weeks . Instructress for the course, Sue Bulawka, would like to have all the ladies wear shorts; however, slacks would be acceptable. Proper footwear is essential - either bare feet or running shoes. Registration forms will be available at the first session, and each registrant is required to fill out the registration form and leave it with the instructress Ladies ... here is your chance to prepare your- self for the upcoming summer activities. UPHOLSTERY COURSE The Recreation Office is waiting for final details on the instructor for this workshop. Definite plans for holding the workshop will be advertised in next week's News. SILK SCREENING COURSE - DEADLINE TODAY A reminder that registration deadline for the Silk Screening Course is today, Wednesday, May 6th, lf you are interested in taking this course, be sure to call the Recreation Office at 3542 by 5 p.m. today. We require more names in order to formulate plons for this course. SUMMER ACTIVITIES TENNIS - Tennis courts will be available for public use in another two weeks. The Recreation Office is awaiting the arrival of new nets and tapes for the tennis courts. Once the nets and tapes arrive and are installed and general maintenance and repairs are done, the courts will be open. Because of the above, the Tennis Courts are not . available for use at this time! ROLLER SKATING - The first roller skating sess- ion for the 1970 season is scheduled for Sundey , May 30 th. Sessions will be held once weekly on Sunday evenings. If interest warrants it, the sessions will be increased to twice weekly. Further details will appear during the forthcoming weeks. MINOR FASTBALL AND GIRLS' SOFTBALL Registration forms for minor baseball will be cir~ culated through all the schools next week. IN ORDER TO SUCCESSFULLY OPERATE THE ABOVE LEAGUES, THE RECREATION OFFICE URGENTLY REQUIRES THE ASSISTANCE OF TEENAGERS AND ADULTS IN TERRACE BAY. If you are interested in coaching or umpiring, please call the Recreation Office (3542). Your assistance will be appreciated by all the boys and girls in the league. LACROSSE - Since the Minor Fastball program will close the latter part of June, the Lacrosse pro- gram will not be offered until fhat time. Registra- tion for the Lacrosse program will take place in mid-June. JUNIOR BADMINTON CLINIC - Session no. 5 of the Junior Badminton Clinic will be held this Saturday at the regular hours. Junior Badminton players ... this will be your last chance to sign up for the wind-up tournament which will be held on Saturday, May 16th. SWIMMING - In order to start our swimming instruction on June 29th, registrations will be made available through the schools and the Recreation Office in mid June. Opening date for recreational swimming will be announced the first week of June. PLAYGROUNDS - The summer Playground program} is scheduled to start on Monday, July 6th and will continue until Friday, August 14th. If you require further information about these programs, please contact the Recreation Office. ADULT BADMINTON SESSIONS CONTINUE All future badminton sessions will be held accord- ing to the following schedule: - Tuesday -9 7! P.M, and Thursdays 9 - 11 P.M.
