Like hot weather it sours milk but sweet ens apples. ee EDUCATIONAL DIALOGUE Schreiber High School Home and School Associa- tion will sponsor an "Educational Dialogue " on Tuesday, February 24th in the local gynmasium. Here, an explanation of the innovations for the 1970-71 school year will be discussed. A panel, consisting of Mr. E.J. Morgan, Director of Education, students, parents, a board member , and teachers from the three local schools, will be present. They will comment on the innovations and answer questions dealing with educational matters . if you have questions that you would like to pre- sent before the meeting, forward them to Schreiber High School . All citizens and readers of this paper are cordially invited to attend "Educational Dialogue," SCHEDULE OF EVENTS Wednesday, February 11th - Terrace Bay boys and girls basketball teams play in Terrace Bay. Thursday, February 12th - Winter Carnival 3:00 p. m. - 6:00 p.m. Ballad of Willie Wall in the gym- nasium - 8:00 p.m. - 10:00 p.m. Sock Hop - 10:00 p.m. - 11:30 p.m. Friday, February 13th - Winter Carnival Events Wednesday, February 18th - Schreiber boys and girls basketball teams play in Schreiber . Tuesday, February 2Ath - "Educational Dialogue" sponsored by Schreiber High School Home and School Association. EEE Last week was filled with activities as Schreiber High School played six games of basketball . The first two games were played against Terrace Bay High School in Terrace Bay - Schreiber re- mained victorious in two very close games. The -- scores were 30 - 28 for girls and 26 - 25 for boys. The highest scorers were L. Simmer and G. TERRACE BAY RIES S.H.S. TEAMS PLAY OTHER LAKE SUPERIOR TEAMS FEBRUARY 12 Morrill for Schreiber High School and A. Cadieux and L. Brooks for Terrace Bay High School . On Friday, the teams travelled to Marathon for a" battle against these teams. The girls won their §ame 42 - 13 with L. Simmer and R. Dyer from Marathon as the high scorers . The boys were defeated 46 - 37 by the well versed Marathon boys. The high scorers were W. Tremblay for Schreiber High School and S. Wills for Marathon High School . Saturday morning in Manitouwadge, the girls played first, winning their game 39 - 17 with L. Simmer for Schreiber High School and C. Bolduc for Manitouwadge High School as high scorers . The boys game was the most exciting and rough game as our star player, W. Tremblay, was injured in the 3rd quarter. Luckily, Wayne managed to rejoin the game and scored six points more after his injury. He also was the high scorer for the Schreiber} | High School Team. For Manitouwadge, the high scorer was Audziss. Although Schreiber did lose 49-38, the team played well and didn't give up hope. ae WINTER CARNIVAL SCHEDULE The Schreiber High School Winter Carnival will be held on Thursday February 12th and Friday, February 13th. The events on Thursday from 3:00 - 6:00 p.m. are as follows: 1) dog sled races; 2) snow shoe races; 3) toboggan races; 4) snow football; 5) ski-doo races; and 6) eating contest. At 8:00 p.m. the Touring Players Foundation will present "The Ballad of Willy Wall" and a sock- hop will follow in the gymnasium. On Friday, some of the events are as follows - 1) ski-doo parade; 2) speed skating relays; 3) hockey games; 4) chess; 5) hair styling; 6) broomball games; 7) basketball games; 8) volleyball games; 9) badmin- | ton; 10) balloon shaving; 11) beard judging; 12) ice sculpture; 13) dance. ' Lunch on Friday will be served by the Anglican Church Women in the church basement from 11:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. Each of the student houses - Mohawk, Canuck, Ottawa, Iroquois and one teacher house will compete for highest total number of points throughout the car- nival.
