In 1945 Kinsmen helped form the World Council off | Young Men's Service Clubs, now representing 6ver | 30 countries. Kin grew from 150 clubs in 1945 to over 300 clubs in 1956; and to over 10,000 members. -- On February 20th, 1970 - the 50th Anniversary of the Founding of Kin - The Kinsmen National Institu- te on Mental Retardation will be official opened. Over $350,000.00 was raised by clubs across Can- ada for this building. Throughout the years Kinsmen Clubs have main- tained the motto "Serving the Community's Great- est Need". WHAT A GRANDMOTHER IS - A grandmother is a lady who has no children of her own so she likes other peoples little girls. A grandfather is a man grandmother. He goes for walks with the boys and they talk about fishing and tractors and like that. Grandmas don't have anything to do except be there. They are old so they shouldn't play hard or run. Its enough if they drive us to the super market where the pretend horse is and have lots of dimes ready. Of if they take us for a walk they should slow down past things like pretty leaves or caterpillars . They should never say hurry up. Usually they are fat but not too fat to tie kids shoes They wear glasses and funny underwear and they can take their teeth and gums off. Its better if they don't typeywrite or play cards except with us. They don't have to be smart only answer questions like "Why dogs hate cats'or " How come God isn't married." They don't talk baby talk like visitors do because it is hard to understand. When they read to us they don't skip or mind if it's the same story again. Everybody should try to have one especially if you don't have TV because grandmas are the only grown- ups who have time. This article was written by an 8 year old in Grade 3. The weaker sex is really the stronger sex because of the weakness of the stronger sex for the weaker sex. Los Angeles is represented by two teams - the Dodgers and the Angels. And with the traffic out there, you're either one or the other.
