Prinselaar of St. Andrew's United Church, 'Schreiber. GROUPS SCHEDULE JANUARY PARTIES The United Church Women of Schreiber will hold a dinner at 6 p.m. Jan. 7 prior to their re- gular meeting which will be fol- lowed by a-social evening with exchange of gifts. Schreiber Lady Trainmen will hold their Christmas party Jan. -§ in the Anglican Church Hall starting with dinner at 6 p.m. and followed by gift exchange. Each member is asked to bring two small prizes for contests. Schreiber Women's Institute has planned a Christmas party for Jan. 9, opening with dinner in Mayfair Hotel at 6 p.m. A gift exchange will follow. LIGHTING WINNERS ANNOUNCED : The Schreiber Hydro Electric Commission prizes for outdoor lighting at Christmas were won by Jack McCouan, first; Henry Paske, second and Walter Zap- orzan, third. The Canadian Legion special New Year's draw was won by Valerie Rigelsford. Mr. and Mrs. Hartley McKay were hosts for a farewell party by the staff of Zenmac Mines and other friends held in honor of Mr. and Mrs. Murray Welsh. The couple is moving to a new home in Haileybury. On behalf of the 17 persons present, Gerald Banning pre- sented a barbecue to Mr.. and Mrs. Welsh. Visiting Mr. and Mrs. Alex Power during the holiday season were Mrs . Pat O'Reilly and son Robert of Eganville, Rev. Sister Mary Comerford (en route from Pettawawa) and Mr. and Mrs. Doug Lowdeen of Winnipeg. of Mrs. Power. Mr. and Mrs. The ladies all being sisters Dan Bobka of Hearst, Ont. were with Mr.-and Mrs. Bary Harper for the holidays . Visiting Mr. and Mrs. George Lehto was their son Oliver and family of Sault Ste. Marie, Ont and Marilyn Hawke of Montreal. Mrs. Lehto spent a few days in Sault Ste. Marie and Sudbury with * relatives. Mr. and Mrs. Alex Konopelky have returned to Edmonton after holidaying with Mr. and Mrs. Norma Glad. Also home for the holiday season are Brian Hew- son of Smith Falls with Michael Moore; Lou and Cathy McGrath of Thunder Bay with Penny Park: Wilfred Anderson of North Bay with Mr. and Mrs. Austin Cosgrove his aunt and uncle. ROSSPORT TOWN TOPICS Peter Legault has left to resume his duties at Hillcrest High School, Port Arthur. Mr. and Mrs. Pat Auger of Longlac spent the holiday season in Rossport. Guests of Mr. and. Mrs. C..W. Todesco this week were Mr. and Mrs. J.R. Douglas of Beardmore, Miss Laurie Douglas of Toronto, Mr. and Mrs. Wil- fred Bertin, with Louise, David, Laurie Jean, Peter and Terry all of Marathon. Mrs, Mildred Price has returned from holidays at Powassan and resumed teaching at Rossport . Mr. and Mrs. Chas Todesco were business visitors to Thunder Bay on the weekend. Walter Gerow has returned to the Lakehead after holidaying here.' Miss Camilla Todesco has returned to Windsor after holidaying with her parents . Mr. Lawrence Mushqush has returned from Port Arthur. Mr. and Mrs. D. Carrody of Thunder Bay visited relatives here over the new year. Mr. Floyd Hardden of the Lakehead spent the Yuletide with the Seppala family. W. Wesley and Family spent Christmas weekend with relatives in Geraldton. George Gaune and son Kenneth of Winnipeg visited Mr. and Mrs. Lenard Ibey during the holiday season.
