In May, the ladies catered to a luncheon for the Visiting Committees. During the year, we purchased twa new tables with extension and ten stacking chairs and new carpeting for ths stairs and hall at the Manse. Once again, the annual bazaar was dispensed wit and Christmas felt stockings and bells were mailed out to the members, to be stuffed with free will of- ferings, and dedicated at a lovely Christmas service, | held in the Church on December 7th. This project . realized over $300.00. On reflection, the President said, the Evening. Auxiliary had had a varied and interesting year. Highlights in the programs were a candid look at China, by the Reverend Walton Tong of Hong Kong, in May, and introduction to modern hymns and folk songs in September, followed by a Square dance party in the Church hall. The ladies were hostesses to the World Day of Prayer, held in March. A fashion show and luncheon were held in the Motor Hotel in March, a bridge in the homes in April, a | rummage sale in May, sponsoring the Ukrainian Youth Group in June. A bake sale was held in September and a Hydro cooking school in October. We also catered to a wedding, the C.G.1.T. Ban- quet in May, supplied coffee and cookies for the Public School Open House, and the lunch for the High School Commencement exercises. Lunch was served to the Salvation Army Band who took the service on Sunday morning, December 28th. After a report like this, it is hard to understand the feeling that there is a lack of interest in the - Ladies Auxiliary, and yet at a recent meeting, there were only seven people out. A discussion took place, at which everyone present voiced their opinion as to whether there is a need for the Auxil- iary to carry one. The verdict seemed to be that a there is still a great need, and that-perhaps the for fF mat should be changed .to,encourage more of our bs members and friends to come out to the meetings .
