FOR 1970 Main item of business at last Thursday's Chamber of Commerce Meeting held in the Terrace Bay Recreation Centre was election of a slate of officers to head the affairs of the group for the coming year. A slate, presented by nominating Committee chair man R, Sinotte was accepted with only one change and the new officers are - President, Oswald Fink; Vice-President; R. Sinotte; Directors - R. Bray, A. Chisholm, D. Beno, H. Lohr, D. Desrosiers, L. Boudreau, W. Pirie and D. Rafalant. The meeting, conducted by retiring president S. Kolesar was well attended. W. Pirie reported that arrangements are almost concluded to have district weather reports sent by the Area Office of Ontario Hydro to Lakehead radio and television stations for broadcast each day. The secretary read a letter confirming that re- presentatives from the Department of Highways will attend the January meeting to discuss and perhaps find an acceptable solution to danger facing child- ren crossing Highway 17 on their way to and from the centre of town. A letter of appreciation was sent to Terry Scott, manager of the Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce here until his recent transfer, for his active roll in the Chamber..
