Don't discourage the young people, by saying they shouldn't dance in a Church Hall. Better to dance in a Church Hall then smoke pot behind the Rec. Centre. They come in pairs, singly, in droves, but they come, to the Community Church basement on Sunday nights, to the Under 21 Club. The night | dropped in to see for myself what goes on at the Under 21 Club, there were at least 80 young people there. The girls wear blue jeans and elephant pants, high boots and shiny hair, and every- one seems to talk at once. The admission is small, the enthusiasm overwhelm- ing. The executive, all young seem to be able to draw them together. Adults are there, simply as chaperones, They take no part in the program, un- less asked to do so. The first hour is taken up with a discussion period, where they discuss anything that is of importance at the time. Members of both St. Martin's Roman Catholic Church and the Community Church mingle freely, and here they break up into smaller groups for the discussion period. At 8 o'clock, the lights are turned down, the candles lit, and the music is turned on for an hour of dancing. It isn't my kind of music, but then I'm Gn adult and they understand the music they dance to. It blares from the record player, and bounces off the walls, but it keeps them - cont'd next column . .. Eng., of Terrace Bay, secretary treasurer. of the North Superior Chapter of the Assoc- tation of Professional Engineers of Ontario, attended a general Chapter Chairmen's meeting in Toronto recently. The meeting, attended by representatives of the 42 Chapters located throughout the Province , dealt with a number of matters and problems concerning the engineering profession, and also discussed the forthcoming APEO Annual meeting scheduled to be held in Ottawa Feb. 27-28, 1970. The North Superior Chapter has a membership of 36 professional engineers who reside or are employed in the area.
