Photo by |. McCuaig. WATER ASSOCIATION ELECTS EXECUTIVE The annual meeting of the Rossport Water Associa- tion was held Friday evening with Toi Seppala chairing the meeting. Secretary, C. Todesco read the minutes and correspondance and the financial statement proved satisfactory. It was decided to send invoices for the 1969 water accounts to those who had not paid their water bills, stating that if not paid at once they would possibly have their water shut off. It is only fair to all water subscribers that these accounts be paid if they want this convenience. It was decided to purchase supplies of pipes, fittings, etc., to keep on hand in case of an emer- gency. d The election of the executive took place with Felix Legault, Jack Spillett, C. Todesco, A. Rouble and E. Gerow elected. Chas Todesco, sec- retary-treasurer for another term was advised to call an executive meeting soon. Retiring chairman Toi Seppala was given the title "advisory chairman." Felix Legault moved a vote ot thanks being given Mr. Seppala. Mrs. Ibey moved adjournment. TERRACE BAY NEWS NOVEMBER 13, 1969 BAKE AND PRODUCE SALE RAISES FUNDS Friday morning, from eleven to twelve noon,sthe school children helped with a bake and produce sale at the school to raise funds for the Junior Red Cross. Grades four, five and six pupils had charge of the sale.. The vegetable table had carrots, beets, turnips, cabbage, squash and parsnips for sale, while the children at the bake table were kep? busy disposing of cakes, tarts, doughnuts, cookies and rolls. Following the sale, the teacher showed films on Pakistans and Iceland with Tommy Bouchard as narrator. COFFEE TABLE TOP CONVERSATION PIECE Mrs. Ray Kenney hosted the members:of St. Ber- chman's Altar Society, Thursday evening for their regular monthly meeting. Nine members responded to roll call. © The president, Mrs. E. Gerow, chaired the meeting and led in opening and closing prayers. Mrs. Herb. sented the financial statement. Following luncheon Mrs. Kenney introduced the ladies to her display of Lake Superior, Mexican and U.S.A. stones as well as those from other countries. Mrs. Kenney learned her hobby from her son Eddie who had the machinery and equipment when in High School. After leaving home Mrs. Kenney took over where he left off. She cuts, polishes, tumbles and mounts the various stones in jewellery. Dinner rings, necklaces, bracelets, cuff links, and pins are among her specialities. From Mexico she has collected aragnite, crazy lace, fire opal, chrysocola, silver, hemmorphite, fire agate, wulf- enite, a pache tears, lagoona agate, cocoanut balls or geodes, and arrowheads. - cont'd page 19 .....
