The photo on page 11 shows insulations removed on Monday from the pole which burned, cutting off electrical power to the homes in Terrace Bay and Schreiber. If you examine the photo you will see X marks indicating where bullets cracked the insula- tions. Friday and Saturday's rain seeped in, causing a short. in the line with resultant power failure. The area office of Ontario Hydro have issued warnings and posted notices but the depradations continue. : Our total reliance on Hydro, especially in Terrace Bay, was certainly underscored last weekend. As the hours went by (seven long hours) camp stoves, barbecues etc., were pressed into service to prepare some warm food. It was fortunate the power failure didn't occur in the middle of winter. As it was, most homes, with heating which depends on electric- ity, didn't get too cold. Terrace Bay Private Hospital was not affected as an emergency system is available at all times. In the early days of Terrace Bay power failures were quite frequent.
