REMEMBRANCE DAY BANQUET DISCUSSED The Ladies Auxiliary to the Royal Canadian Legio Branch 223, Terrace Bay, held their general meet- ing in the Legion Hall October 26th, at 8 p.m. President Dorothy Ballentine chaired the meeting. Minutes were read by secretary Joyce Mercier. Permission was granted to hold the Poppy Day Tea in the Community Church Hall, on November 11th. Treasurer Pam Jones read her report, and a motion was made to pay all accounts. No report was given for membership or sick and visiting. Secretary J. Mercier will contact those ladies gto have made application for membership, and have not yet aqme to a meeting to be initiated. It was decided to cancel all cards, and new app- lications be made. A discussion took place about the preparation of the Remembrance Day Banquet. Poppies will be sold on November 8th, A nominating committee has been chosen. All members are urged to attend the Parade, at 10.45 a.m., Saturday morning November 8th, at the Recreation Centre, leading off to the Cenotaph. Lunch was served by the committee. BOY SCOUT NEWS On behalf of the Ist Terrace Bay Boy Scout Troup | would like to thank all the people who supported our apple sale in September. The profits made by the sale will be a great help to buy materials for repairs and improvements to our Scout Hall and Camp. Without the help of the following people our apple sale would have been a failure: A. Teskey - for suggesting the sale and explaining how to organize it; J. Commisso - of Costa's Food Market - for purchasing the apples for us; H.W. Smith of Lakehead Freightways - for transporting apples to us free of charge and C.
