The annual rate of interest is 7 per cent for the first year; 8 per. cent for the second and third years; and 8 1/4 per cent for each of the remaining six years. Purchasers may also obtain twice their original investment if they refrain from cashing the bonds and the interest-bearing coupons until the maturity date in 1978. During the 1968 campaign, more than 229,000 employees in plants and offices in Ontario purchased a record total of more than $99 million worth of Canadian Savings Bonds . GOLF CLUB NEWS Well here we are.approaching the end of another successful season. To finish the Golf Club will be holding a windup parfy in the Curling Lounge 'on Friday October 10th. There will be lunch, re- freshments and entertainment. Tickets can be ob- tained from any member of the club executive, or at the door. : Some vandalism has occured on the course. A vehicle has spun on No. 2 fairway and ripped out some of the turf. It is unfortunate that some individ- uals find it necessary to destroy the things that the people of this area have worked so hard at to build.
