Junior gardeners are reminded that their garden plots will be inspected in a few weeks. So lets get all those weeds out. All adult members are gladly expected to show their bountiful harvest, too. An invitation to all to keep the date of August 23rd in mind. Come and see the beautiful display of flowers and vegetables that can be grown in our proud communities of Terrace Bay and Schreiber. No admission fee so take advantage of this once a year colourful display of garden products . --$_--_--------_--_---- CONGRATULATIONS TO UNITED STATES OF AMERICA We watched with intense interest, the drama which unfolded on our television screen last weekend when man made history with his journey to the moon. On this accomplishment we add our small voice of con- gratulations to the scientific achievement of the United States and to the courageous men who made that flight. At those times when we watched the event on tel- evision the whole affair assumed an unreal quality. It was hard to separate the simulation from the real . And yet as we listened to reports on radio it became more real. We wonder if this is peculiar to our generation only. On reflection we hearkened back to other great events which have occurred during our lifetime - events which have had direct bearings on our mode of life and wonder what impact this latest achievement of man will have on the individual . We remember our parents' first car - a Model T Ford and one which showed signes of lasting forever. Then Continued page 8 ........
