ce TERRACE BAY NEWS ELECTRIC HEAT VAN VISITES TERRACE BAY Parked near a busy swimming pool last Friday, On- tario Hydro's large van carrying the story of "Electric Heat" to township residents (on one of the hottest days of the year) was not a scene of great activity. However, when we spoke to Mr. Ernie Trafford the man who is in charge of the huge display he seemed quite satisfied with the turnout. For those who did not visit the van we mith say it was a very interesting display and one which pointed up the fact that Ontario Hydro are continually researching and developing new ideas in heating by electricity. A very few years ago it was not considered a good idea to instal electric heat in an-older | home, now with their new equipment existing types of heating (hot air or hot water) can very easily be converted, using the same duct work etc. Many are familiar with the Cascade 40 Continued page 7 eeoee se ee Serving the District July 23, 1969 NOTICE OF POWER INTERUPTION Saturday July 26th from 5a.m. to7 a.m. on South Side of Highway 17 and will include Imperial Motel and Restaurant. Terrace Bay Hydro Department. NORTH SHORE ANNUAL SWIM MEET The Terrace Bay local swim meet will be held this Saturday, July 26th, at 1:00 p.m. Ribbons will be awarded to Ist to 6th place finishers in all events. Medals will be presented to the winners of the various age groups. Parents are particularly urged to come out to this event and support their children. There will be no admission charge. Terrace Bay will be hosting the North Shore Annual Swim Meet this-year and we expect entries from Marathon, Manitouwadge, Red Rock, Schreiber and Cameron Falls. The date is Saturday, August 9th, at 1:30 p.m. D.S.T., anda small admission charge is anticipated. The Terrace Bay swim team is practising very hard for this meet and since they were second place finishers to Red Rock last year, they hope to take first place this year. ROLLER SKATING Due to lack of interest, the roller skating programme has been discontinued until September, at which time it is hoped that more people will be interested. Continued page 7 eevee
