JUNE 12, 1969 GOLF CLUB NEWS TERRACE BAY NEWS Last weekend the golf course was a beehive of activity, with boys, girls ladies and men in view every where participating in either the Junior's or ladies! and men's tourna- ments. The golf course should undoubtedly be the centre of summer rec- reation. Sufficient warm weath-| © er has finally broken through to germinate the extremely expensive grass seed on the new greens. This week again tour- naments will be numer- ous. Thursday's mixed two ball will be some- what unusual by registra- tion of playing couples rather than a draw. Saturday will begin early with the weekly Junior tournament follow ed by interclub tourna- ment with Lakehead golfers . Some twenty five golfers will come in by bus and the first tee-off should be at 11.30 a.m. This tournament will be followed by lunch and social. -We should mention here that this group will have some very fine golfers including at least one pro. With fine weather another busy week end is for- seen. Don't be surprised if someone at Avco advises you to do just that.
