Mrs. Jim Kosticki is a patient in the Port Arthur -General Hospital . Allan Nelson leaves this week for Toronto for med- ical attention. Mr.-and Mrs. Frank Figliomeni have returned after a five week visit in Toledo, Ohio, with their son Cosimo and his family. i ane CANADIAN LEGION BR. 109 BIRTHDAY DiNNER Mrs. Tina Bryar, representing Marathon Auxiliary Br. 183, Mrs. Lillian McBride, representing White River Auxiliary and Mrs. Dorothy Ballantine, repre- senting Terrace Bay Auxiliary Br. 223, were at the head table with local officers when Schreiber ladies' auxiliary to the Royal Canadian Legion, Br. 109 held its birthday dinner. Mrs. Bobbie Winters, Schreiber president, was M. C. for the occasion, attended by 50. Grace was said by Mrs. Vi Rigelsford and the toast to the Queen given by Mrs. Helen Nesbitt. Gifts marking the occasion were presented by Mrs. Ballentine president of the Terrace Bay Auxiliary and 'by Mrs. McBride, secretary of White River Auxiliary and acknowledged by Mrs. Winters. With the auxiliary's good wishes Mrs. Winters pre- sented lapel pins of mother of pearl set with the Legion crest, to Mrs. Lorraine Weaver, and Mrs. Dorothy Hewson, leaving for White River and Smith Falls, respectively and to Mrs. Jeanette Gunter, transferred to Terrace Bay. Mrs. Gunter spoke of the campanionship she enjoyed in being with the Schreiber auxiliary, referring to many former social occasions, and Mrs. Weaver and Hewson both hoped thay they would be visited in their new homes by Schreiber Members. A round of applause thanked Mrs. Rigelsford for making the birthday cake for the anniversary. ' The meal, provided by the auxiliary, was served in the Legion club room by Borden Ross, Legion president, Jack Winters, Larry Bourke, Frank | MacDonald, Gerry Nicol, Harry Smith and Keith Dunn, their style most practical but very amusing. Attending the event from out of town were Mrs. | Tina Bryar, Mrs. Judy Jewell, Marathon; Mrs. Lillian McBride, Mrs. Evelyn Burns and Mrs. Jenny Hawke, White River; Mesdames Dorothy Ballentine, | Pam Jones, Ethel Boyd, Sheila Dakin, Adeline Daley' Dorothy Koski, Yvonne Rochon, Edie Belliveau, Dodie Bougie, Rita Corrigan, Joyce Mercier and | Minnie Woodruffe, Stella Gusul, Liz McLeod, and' | Jeanette Gunter, of Terrace Bay. ; Mrs. Betty Luke and Mrs. Barabara Ann McLaugh- lin were cashiers for the event. Following the dinner the members were joined by their husbands and other guests for the social evening, with Fred McColeman providing music for dancing. from left Mre.
