McElhanney will become superintend- ent of industrial relations, Spruce Falls Power and Paper Company Limited, Kapuskasing. Prior to his new appointment, he served for three years as man- ager, labour relations, Kimberly-Clark of Canada Limited. Mr McElhanney, is no stranger to Kapus- kasing, having spent 15 years there. He was employ- ed as summer student at Spruce Falls' woodlands de- | partment for three years commencing in 1946. He joined the company as a permanent employee in 1949 as developmental logging engineer and superintendent of the Faugier sawmill and loading plant. He later served in various other sections of the woodlands department, including work in labour relations, and became labour relations supervisor . In 1962, he was transferred to the newly acquired Interlake Tissue Mills at St. Catharines as superin- tendent of industrial relations. In 1966, he was transferred to Kimberly-Clark's head office in Toronto. During World War II, he served with the Royal Canadian Air Force as a flight-Lieutenant. During GRECE BAPTIST CHURCH ~ Rev. CORRECTION In last week's issue we presented a photo of offic- ials of the Thunder Bay Pulp and Paper Mill Unions also a list of the executive of Local 665. Some names were designated in the wrong position. Mr. J. Dejonghe and Mr. G. Clader are Guards and Mr. Bill McKay is a Trustee. NOTES FROM THE PAST Mrs. A. Farrow recently unearthed a copy of the Times Journal dated March 12, 1948 which contained write-ups on Curling and Hockey doings in Terrace Bay at that time. In Curling it was noted that rinks skipped by Ruth Bangartt and Fran Roberts had defeat- ed visiting rinks from - cont'd on page 4 ....--.
