APRIL 3, 1969 TERRACE BAY NEWS PA TODD FOURSOME LEADS BONSPIEL TERRACE BAY -- Fort Wil- liam's Tom Todd with his rink of Jim Carson, Don Ross and Jack Kallos captured top honors in the 2ist annual Terrace Bay Curl- ing Bonspiel. They were award- ed the Gino Spadoni Trophy pre- sented by bonspiel chairman, Dr. Brian McDonald. There wre 32 rinks entered in the bonspiel and the guest curl- ers were welcomed by Dr. Mc- Donald and club president, Jack Caceamo. Jack Wellings, life member, threw the first rock to - open the 'spiel. ; Runners-up in the first event were: Lou Duquette of Terrace 'Bay, with Ken. Johnson, Dave Desrosiers and George Caron. In the B Event, Denny Charle- bois, Fort William, brother George, Pat Griffin and Chuck Christie won out. Runners - up 'in the 2nd Division were Scotty Hamilton, of Terrace Bay, Jack ee, Harry Gusul and Joe Third event winners were the Terrace Bay rink of Bob Ro- berts, Benny Hayes, Henry Hermes and Joe Szpak. Runners- up ot 1errace Bay were Hec Mc- Leod, Charlie Koski, Paul Pelto and Marvin Koski. - Fourth event went to a young rink from Port Arthur, Cliff and George Campbell, Greg Drys- dale and Ray Olsen. Runners-up were Murray Roberts, Jack Whiteman, Dan Pozihun and Ray Meadows. Rinks were represented from Schreiber, Rossport, Red Rock, Fort William, Port Arthur, Ka- puskasing and Terrace Bay. Saturday evening a social was held in the club, with music by Sax Lundberg and George Chur- ney. The Spadoni Trophy and priz- | es were presented on Sunday af- | ternoon; at the close of the Bon- spiel. Chairman McDonald thank- ed everyone who took part and President Jack Caccamo ex- pressed his thanks to all and especially to the ladies who sup- plied the' food and coffee, and helped in any way to make it such a_ successful bonspiel, and stated he hoped they would all return next year. ART CLUB NEWS The Art Club will hold a business meeting on Thurs April 3rd. at 8 o'clock, followed by a work period. The winner of the oil painting raffled by the club was Mrs. P.
