Councillor Farrell suggested that now is the time for Terrace Bay to register its objections to a proposed Regional operation of Ontario Hydro. + The proposal is to do away with each municipal-- ity handling its own hydro and making it a region al operation instead. The Hydro Commission will investigate further . A letter from A. Allen regarding stray dogs was read. Council are again attempting to secure a dog catcher. Students of St. Martins School were granted permission to sell chocolates from door to door . On a suggestion from Councillor Desrosier , Clerk W. Hanley was instructed to contact J. Mikus to inspect a dangerous area on Kenogami Road. Councillor Farrell asked for information on the Kiwanis sign so that he could pass it on to a questioning tax payer. J. Clancy and E. Hamman were appointed mem bers of the Fire Department. An appropreate gesture will be made ot honour retiring fireman J. Delong. NEW MEMBERS WELCOMED The Ladies Auxiliary to the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 223, held their monthly meeting at the Legion Hall on Sunday, March 30. The meeting opened with the Colours and the singing of O Canada. The minutes of the last meeting and executive meeting were read and ad- opted. Mrs. Milks and Mrs. B. St. Louis were welcomed as new members into the auxiliary. Mrs. Pam Jones gave the Treasurer's report. Correspondence consisted mainly of Thank You notes. An invitation was issued to Auxiliary mem- bers, to attend the White River Auxiliary Birthday party on April 26. Anyone interested in attending is asked to contact Mrs. Joyce Mercier. A donation was sent to the Canadian Cancer Society. Mrs. Mercier gave a brief report on the District Annual Meeting, which was held at Kak- abeka Falls. The Terrace Bay Auxiliary was proud to bring back the Membership Plaque, which was won over all the other Auxiliaries in the D'strict. Mrs. Ann Johnson was named the new District Rep resentative.
