The new system of assessment will be administered by the Municipal Affairs Department in a two-tiered structure. There will be 32 regional assessment units with boundaries subject to adjustment in order to : match those of regional governments. These regions in turn will be grouped under the assessment direct- ors of seven large areas. The present Assessment Branch of the Municipal Affairs Department will be expanded into a Division It will give overall direction and will handle service functions, such as education and the improvement of valuation techniques. The Province will assume the EDITORS NOTE Terrace Bay is included in the accompanying list of Municipalities who "are assessed at actual or at a reasonable approximation of actual values as of February 28, 1969".
