The first event was won by a Terrace Bay rink - Charlie Koski, Sheila Hughes, Jack Caccamo, Dorothy Koski. Runners-up - Len Crockford, Peggy Wellings, Norma Crockford, Bob Roberts (also of Terrace Bay). The second event was won by Hector McLeod, Liz Burns, Julie and Dick Rattray (Terrace Bay). Runners-up - Gino Caccamo, Frankie Caccam Bill and Lorraine Weaver. The prizes were: First Event - Vanity chairs and smoking stands, 2nd. clothes hampers and hassocks, 3rd. travel alarms and salad bowls, 4th. cuff links and pillow cases. Second Event - Ist. four watches (donated by Spadoni Motors), 2nd. spotlights (donated by B.A. Oil) and ovenware, 3rd. nylon flight bags and tiered cake plates, 4th. curling ashtrays and relish dishes. Following a report from Reeve F. V. Harness on his meeting with V. Snell of the De- partment of Highways, Council agreed to take over the access road to Walker Lake and make 't a town street. It was agreed to appoint Frank McKenna and Aurel Ma- jor to the Rink Committee. In response to a request from Parks and Recreation Commit- tee, council approved of acting as 'co-sponsors of Schreiber ballet class. Edmund Borutski reported on a separate school board meeting he had attended in Terrace Bay, and Anthony Speziale, of the school staff, reported on a Regional school board meeting he had attended.
